West-wide Energy Corridors

Case Number: 09-03048-VRW
Filed on: 2009/07/07
Filed by: Atwood, Renshaw, Angell & Loarie

Sept. 15, '09 - Plaintiffs file first amended complaint in Northern California district court.

July 7, '09 - ONDA joins The Wilderness Society and other conservation groups in challenging Department of the Interior's West-wide energy corridors proposal. In Oregon's high desert, the plan designates corridors through the Alvord Desert and Bowden Hills Wilderness Study Areas ("WSAs"), citizen-proposed wilderness areas in the East and West Gulches on Beaty Butte, and across important Greater sage grouse habitat.

Legal challenge to a Bush-era plan that designated energy corridors that promote coal-fired and other fossil fuel power plants.

Jan. 16, '09 - ONDA joins Center for Biological Diversity in 60-day notice of intent to sue the Department of the Interior for violations of the Endangered Species Act in its adoption of final Records of Decision for western energy corridors.

Feb. 8, '08 - ONDA comments on interagency Draft Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement concerning designation of energy corridors on public lands in eleven western states.

July 10, '06 - ONDA submits 2nd round of comments on revised route for designation of energy corridors across the west.

Nov. 28, '05 - ONDA submits scoping comments criticizing multi-agency proposal to designate "energy corridors" across the west, which would cross several ONDA-proposed Wilderness Study Areas.
