After much anticipation The Energy Facility Siting Council (EFSC) has finally announced the location and agenda for the meeting on ONDA's petition to include Steens on the list of protected areas, off-limits to energy development. ONDA, Audubon Society of Portland, and Defenders for Wildlife submitted a petition to the Oregon Department of Energy asking that the Energy Facility Siting Council (“EFSC”) add the CMPA to the list of protected areas off limits to industrial scale energy development. Please consider attending this meeting and letting EFSC know that Steens is the wrong place for energy development:
