Badlands Wilderness Stewardship #7

November 17 @ 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

oregon badlands wilderness

In partnership with the Prineville District of the Bureau of Land Management, ONDA leads regular service days to improve the Badlands Wilderness for its human visitors and native wildlife inhabitants.

Through projects such as trail maintenance, signage improvement, illegal vehicle route obscuring, fence removal and retrofitting to improve safe passage for wildlife, volunteers will give back to one of Central Oregon’s most cherished landscapes and receive an introduction to ONDA’s broader stewardship and conservation efforts. These single-day experiences are designed to introduce people to ONDA’s restoration program and inspire a deeper connection to Oregon’s high desert.

Trip highlights include immersion in the splendor of the Oregon Badlands Wilderness, learning about ONDA’s restoration and conservation priorities, and helping to enhance the pristine character of this Oregon gem.

Challenges will include the rigors of hiking in sandy soil, variable weather and physical work.
