Beech Creek Fence Repair
May 15 @ 5:00 pm - May 18 @ 10:00 am
ONDA is excited for another year of restoration work and collaboration with the Malheur National Forest and other groups on an important tributary to the John Day River. The restoration of Beech Creek aims to increase late summer flows for fish and provide additional spawning and rearing habitat for salmonids.
In order to keep the newly restored stretches of creek healthy, volunteers will be working to repair and install fencing to manage livestock grazing and limit browsing on the newly planted vegetation.
Trip highlights include the great scenery and plant diversity that the Blue Mountains offer during spring.
Challenges include the varying tasks associated with fence work and potentially muddy conditions.
