Cottonwood Canyon Exclosure Build

October 22 @ 8:00 am - October 23 @ 5:00 pm

A quick, mid-week overnighter to build exclosure fences in preparation for planting at our newly installed beaver dam analogues (BDAs) on Hay Creek.

You will build exclosure fences around areas that have been improved for planting work thanks to our newly installed BDAs. This will give us more time during the longer trip the following week to concentrate on filling those exclosures with lots of new riparian potted plants.

You can choose tasks that best suit your abilities. Main tasks include hauling materials to the individual work sites, cutting fence to proper length, attaching fence to posts and pounding t-posts.

Trip highlights involve the relative closeness of the project area to Portland allowing for day-trip access if desired, and being an integral part of a long-term effective restoration project with visible results and improvement.
