Cottonwood Canyon Planting

November 1 @ 8:00 am - November 4 @ 5:00 pm

Planting native riparian plants alongside recently installed beaver dam analogues (BDAs) on Hay Creek.

This trip is the culmination of a season of preparation work: building BDAs to irrigate dry planting areas and building exclosure fences to protect plantings until they are fully established.

You can choose tasks which best suit your abilities. Main tasks include hauling materials to the individual work sites, digging holes and planting plants.

Trip highlights involve the relative closeness of the project area to Portland allowing for day-trip access if desired, and being an integral part of a long-term effective restoration project with visible results and improvement.
