Cancelled: Cottonwood Canyon Riparian Restoration

April 9 @ 5:00 pm - April 12 @ 5:00 pm

This trip will leverage momentum from the previous season when ONDA installed Beaver Dam Analogues (BDAs) to irrigate planting areas and built exclosure fences to protect plantings until they are fully established. Now for the fun part of preparing the ground and adding plants to sites that are ideal for accommodating new native vegetation!

You can choose tasks that best suit your abilities; hauling materials to the individual work sites, installing cardboard weed barrier, anchoring it with dirt or planting willow and cottonwood sticks.

Trip highlights include spending time in the John Day River canyon country, opportunities to view bighorn sheep and taking part of a long-term effective restoration project with visible results and improvement.
