Cottonwood Canyon State Beaver Dam Analogue Construction

August 23 @ 5:00 pm - August 26 @ 10:00 am

ONDA is proud to partner with Oregon State Parks on a four-year project to help restore three miles of Hay Creek.

During this trip we’ll be building beaver dam analogues (BDAs).  These are basically artificial beaver dams to help get the restoration jumpstarted by accumulating sediment and providing water to plants we’ll be planting later.

Cottonwood Canyon is Oregon’s largest state park. Straddling the lower John Day River, the park is a great place to recreate, but also provides critical habitat for wildlife.
