Cottonwood Canyon State Park Riparian Restoration
May 22 @ 5:00 pm - May 25 @ 10:00 am
ONDA is proud to partner with Oregon State Parks on a four-year project to help restore three miles of Hay Creek.
During this trip we’ll be building exclosure fences to protect existing riparian vegetation from beavers and deer. Once the trees have grown larger, and the habitat has recovered more, we’ll remove these fences for the deer to browse on, and for the beaver to build dams with.
Cottonwood Canyon is Oregon’s largest state park. Straddling the lower John Day River, the park is a great place to recreate, but also provides critical habitat for wildlife.
