Denny Jones Ranch Restoration Project #2
May 13 @ 5:00 pm - May 16 @ 5:00 pm
This is the second of three restoration projects on Denny Jones Ranch, a conservation property owned by the Burns Paiute Tribe, that ONDA volunteers will participate in during 2019. ONDA has been working with the Burns Paiute Tribe to achieve their restoration goals for this property since 2015 and is encouraged by the impact of our collective efforts.
On this trip, volunteers will work to remove poison hemlock and other non-native forbs that have overtaken much of the riparian area. Using scythes and gloved hands, volunteers will remove weeds and then plant willows in these cleared patches to outcompete the weeds.
You will enjoy morning and evening fires to cut the spring chill, live music, and exploring an incredible property owned by the Burns Paiute Tribe and managed as wildlife habitat.
