Deschutes/Tumalo Planting (day trips)
November 13 @ 8:00 am - November 15 @ 4:00 pm
A great local project benefiting wildlife in a protected section of private land along the Deschutes River.
You will have the opportunity to plant rooted stock in pre-augured holes on the Deschutes River Ranch property in Tumalo. We will also be supplementing plant diversity by finding good microsites for some more upland plants within the corridor. To protect our riparian plants while they get established we will also be building exclosure fences around them.
Since the location is close by (if you live in central Oregon) you are welcome to come by for one day or all three, or even part of a day. These are day-trips.
Highlights include getting to work on a project without having to camp out. This is a great introduction for trying out ONDA riparian restoration work, in case you aren’t sure if it is for you.
Challenges on this trip may include keeping up with updates in case weather requires us to change dates. It is a tricky time of year to schedule trips!
