John Day Float and Pull

May 17 @ 10:00 am - May 21 @ 12:00 pm

$400

The John Day River is the second longest free flowing river in the continental United States.

On this stewardship trip, volunteers will float 70 miles of the lower John Day River.

Volunteers will be pulling obsolete barbed wire fence, exploring and hiking, and enjoying three days of floating through some of the best country Oregon has to offer. No previous experience is required. ONDA will provide all necessary training in order to conduct fence removal and Ouzel Outfitters will provide the equipment and guides to navigate the river.

Trip highlights include exploring the incredible canyon country of the lower John Day River, guided raft trip from Ouzel Outfitters, and sleeping under the stars in a largely Wild and Scenic River corridor.

Challenges include exploring and working in a remote area and unpredictable weather, water flows and winds.
