Logan Valley Planting Project
August 27 - August 30
ONDA will team up with the Burns Paiute Tribe to improve wildlife habitat in Logan Valley, located just south of the Strawberry Mountain Wilderness in Grant County, Oregon.
This project will mark the start of a four-year effort to establish an Oregon semaphore grass community, found only two other places in the world, to improve upland habitat for native ungulates. Volunteers will help to plant, cage and monitor the success of efforts to establish the grass.
Highlights include exploring a beautiful and remote part of Oregon with ONDA and the Burns Paiute Tribe as your expert guides, learning how to cultivate and establish a rare plant species, and having the area all to ourselves.
