New Hikes in Eastern Oregon

September 21, 2020 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Wildhorse Lake, Steens Mountain

During this virtual event, Oregon’s hiking guru will take you on a slideshow tour of a dozen new trails he found while researching the third edition of his book, “100 Hikes/Travel Guide: Eastern Oregon.” Hear about a colorful badlands on the Owyhee River, a stunning wilderness with cactus flowers on the John Day, and a viewpoint hike to a ranch at the east end of the Columbia Gorge. We’ll even explore half a dozen little-known hot springs. As always, Sullivan spices his talk with notes on the geology, wildlife and history of the land.
