Rescheduled: Sutton Mountain Campout
September 25 @ 5:00 pm - September 27 @ 3:00 pm
Immerse yourself in the stunning landscapes of the John Day River Basin on a Sutton Mountain campout.
On this stewardship trip, volunteers will learn about conservation priorities in the area and how to experience these places responsibly. We will spend a half-day on a clean-up project along the John Day River and participants will be able to choose between several group hiking and exploring opportunities in the area.
This trip is a great introduction to ONDA and the John Day River basin; those new to ONDA or the area are invited to attend. No previous ONDA volunteer experience is needed to attend this trip; we will provide all instruction and necessary tools to do the job.
Trip highlights include spending time in the iconic beauty of Sutton Mountain, the Painted Hills, and working and hiking alongside members of local communities.
Challenges will be potentially hot daytime temperatures; this trip is suitable for all skill levels.
