Willow Creek Planting (day-trip)
April 16 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
A great opportunity for Central Oregonians to pop out for the day and help plant willows and cottonwoods on Willow Creek.
This project takes place within a conservation easement on private property that provides an important movement route for redband trout between headwaters in Ochoco National Forest and the lowland Crooked River National Grasslands.
While the work will involve hammering pikes into the ground to create pilot holes for planting willow and cottonwood sticks, the soil at the work site looks encouragingly soft. This might just be the lowest impact spring planting trip you can do!
Trip highlights include the chance to join in on a quick mid-week day trip and the opportunity to serve as ambassadors for ONDA in building rapport with local landowners.
