Resource management plans (RMPs) are the foundation of public lands conservation. More than 25 years in the making, the RMPs for the Owyhee Canyonlands and the Greater Hart-Sheldon were carefully crafted to conserve wildlife, protect wild lands, support habitat connectivity and promote climate resiliency, while also permitting land use and other activities where appropriate.
Now, members of Congress want to undo decades of progress and ignore the will of thousands of Oregonians and people from across the country by throwing out those plans in favor of resource extraction and industrial development.
ONDA staunchly opposes Congressional override of these RMPs.
