The Trump administration has clearly demonstrated that its priority is resource development and extraction at the expense of wildlife habitat and public lands.
One clear example is the Department of the Interior’s continuing effort to dismantle the BLM sage-grouse plans that resulted from years of stakeholder input and scientific study. Revising these plans will hurt efforts to protect the large areas of sagebrush and native grasses that the birds need and risk impacts to the more than 350 other species that call this area home. Failure to protect this important habitat will speed up the decline of sage-grouse populations and push the species closer to the brink of extinction.
Tell Senators Wyden and Merkley to prevent BLM from undermining sage-grouse conservation and to let the sage-grouse plans work.
