Thank Senator Merkley for re-introducing Sutton Mountain Wilderness legislation

In 2019, Senator Merkley introduced legislation to designate the 58,000-acre Sutton Mountain Wilderness and convey nearly 2,000 acres to the city of Mitchell, Oregon to help the community take advantage of the new wilderness area for local economic development.

Please take a moment now to thank the senator and encourage him to move this legislation through Congress.

Badger

Badgers are generally nocturnal, but, in remote areas with no human encroachment, they are routinely observed foraging during the day. They prefer open areas with grasslands, which can include parklands, farms, and treeless areas with crumbly soil and a supply of rodent prey.

Badgers are born blind, furred, and helpless. Their eyes open at four to six weeks.

Latin name: Taxidea taxus
