Bio :

A native Central Oregonian, Brent first worked for ONDA as a Wildlands Coordinator from 2000 to 2003. He returned in 2007 to serve as ONDA’s organization’s executive director, where he spearheaded the implementation of the Steens Mountain Wilderness, led a citizen’s wilderness inventory of millions of acres of unprotected wilderness, and led efforts to designate the Badlands and Spring Basin as Wilderness.

His life and work experiences include: research assistant at the United Nations, Pacific Crest Trail thru-hiker, community development coordinator for the Central Oregon Intergovernmental Council, Peace Corps volunteer in Mali and environmental scientist working on water quality, fisheries, and aquatic restoration projects.

Brent earned an undergraduate degree in international studies and environmental science from Willamette University and a master’s degree in environmental science from Alaska Pacific University.
