Bio :

Dan assumed the leadership of ONDA’s conservation program in 2012, coming to us from Crested Butte, Colorado where he served as the executive director for High Country Conservation Advocates. At HCCA, he protected the Upper Gunnison River Basin from the impacts of a major mining proposal, worked on forest plans, travel management plans, natural gas development issues and wilderness campaigns in and around the Gunnison Basin. He served on the Bureau of Land Management’s Southwest Colorado Resource Advisory Council from 2006 to 2012 and on the Southeast Oregon Resource Advisory Council since 2016.

Dan has also worked on BLM Resource Management Plans as a consultant for a private firm and worked for the U.S. Forest Service as a recreation and wilderness technician. Dan holds a master’s degree in forest economics from Northern Arizona University and a bachelor’s degree in natural resources recreation from Colorado State University.

He skis, hikes, bikes, sails and fly-fishes throughout Oregon’s incredible deserts and mountains.
