Helen Harbin

Bio :

With a master’s in business administration from Stanford and good timing, Helen landed in a management role at Hewlett Packard working with the emerging technologies that we carry in our pockets today. Backpacking and skiing fed her need for wild places and led her to Bend in 1992. Her fascination with the desert grew as she helped inventory public lands for wilderness values and remove fences from Steens Mountain Wilderness.

When she joined the ONDA Board in 2004, her values in accountability and transparency helped build the organization. A past board president, she now takes a little more time for camping and hiking to explore the ancient history and wild places of arid eastern Oregon.
