ONDA has joined a diverse coalition calling for a Presidential national monument for Oregon’s Owyhee Canyonlands.
September 6, 2023 – ONDA has joined a diverse coalition of organizations and advocates calling for President Biden to establish an Owyhee Canyonlands National Monument based on a vision offered by Senators Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley. Oregon’s senators have championed the Owyhee Canyonlands for years, developing a broadly-supported, visionary proposal to protect this incredible expanse in Oregon’s high desert. In the event congress fails to pass their legislation, then President Biden should act to establish a national monument on the landscape by the end of 2024.
