Bio:

Nick joined the ONDA team in March 2026 as the Stewardship Coordinator, where he supports the stewardship program and leads volunteers in hands-on efforts to restore and care for high desert habitats. His work includes coordinating volunteer stewardship trips and helping implement projects that improve habitat health and support the wildlife that depend on these unique landscapes.

Originally from Silver Spring, Maryland, just outside Washington, D.C., Nick often escaped the bustle of the city to explore the Appalachian Mountains and the Chesapeake Bay. Time spent birding, hiking, and climbing outdoors helped spark his early interest in wildlife and conservation.

Nick earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Policy from the University of Maryland, College Park, with a concentration in Wildlife Ecology and Management. Since graduating, he has worked with several federal and state land management agencies, building a strong foundation in restoration ecology and gaining experience stewarding public lands. Through this work, he developed a deep appreciation for the wide-open landscapes and remarkable wildlife of the high desert.
