Bio:
Chad is an award-winning photographer, filmmaker, Navy veteran, conservationist, and social entrepreneur with a passion for storytelling and protecting wild spaces. His career has been defined by a unique fusion of creativity and advocacy, shaped by a journey of service—to his country, the environment, and underrepresented communities. Chad holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communication Design and Photography from American Intercontinental University – Atlanta, Ga. and a Master’s of Science Arts Degree in Communication Design from Pratt Institute in NYC. These foundations have played a vital role in his ability to combine visual storytelling with impactful advocacy. As the founder of Soul River Inc. and Love is King, he strives to empower BIPOC and Indigenous communities while safeguarding vulnerable ecosystems. Whether behind the camera or at the forefront of conservation efforts, his mission is to amplify voices, inspire action, and create meaningful impact. From the Arctic tundra to the urban landscapes captured in my photography, his work reflects a deep commitment to human connection, cultural resilience, and environmental stewardship.
Chad had led over 30 expeditions into the Arctic Circle, becoming the first African American to hold a backcountry guide permit for the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. He has testified on Capitol Hill before Congress, advocating against oil drilling in the Arctic Circle alongside the Alaska Wilderness League and the Gwich’in Nation, and has been a long-standing advocate for protection of Oregon’s Owyhee Canyonlands. He stands in solidarity with Indigenous Arctic nations and continues to support their cause. As an award-winning documentary filmmaker and photographer, he remains dedicated to elevating stories that inspire change and preserve the beauty of our planet.
