Bio:
Craig leads ONDA’s mapping, spatial analysis and field inventory work and plays an advisory role in ONDA’s conservation campaigns. While he officially joined the staff in 2019, his roots with ONDA go all the way back to the mid-1980s, when he helped to found ONDA. He served as a board member from 1989 through 2001, then worked on contract for ONDA from 2001 to 2019.
Craig holds a bachelor’s of science in biophysics. He graduated from medical school at Loma Linda University in 1977 and finished his residency in emergency medicine in 1980. Craig practiced emergency medicine at St. Charles Medical Center in Bend, Oregon from 1981 through 1999.
In his “retirement,” Craig returned to school and earned an associate’s degree in GIS from Central Oregon Community College in 2000; he has worked in the GIS field ever since.
His early outdoor activities were rock climbing, mountaineering and skiing. Today, you’ll find him camping, canoeing, hiking, mountain biking and birding in the Oregon desert and beyond.
